Kawasaki Unveils Game-Changing 2027 Off-Road Lineup

Kawasaki’s 2027 off-road and motocross lineup might have broken the dirt bike internet and for good reason. Team Green introduced a full-size, two-stroke dirt bike, (the KX-2F), that for the first time since the early 2000s..

On top of the two-stroke revival, Kawasaki reintroduced the “F” moniker to the flagship four-strokes, improved the cross-country models, and made adjustments to the KLX trail models. Let me share some of my personal favorites for the 2027 model year:

Return of the 2-Stroke (KX327 & KX327X)

Kawasaki’s 2027 surprise announcement of KX327 debut with a motocross version and KX327X for cross-country is an excellent addition. For 20 years, I have waited for a full-sized, open-class two-stroke from Kawasaki and they have been answered.

Kawasaki didn’t settle and just improve old blueprints. I think they chose a more impressive route and engineered something brand new to knock out the toppers in the Euro two-stroke category:

  • The Powerhouse: Euro two-strokes got nothing on this 327cc, liquid-cooled, electronic fuel injected single-cylinder engine. I’m happy to see this answer to jetting at different elevations. With this addition, the KX327 is on another level compared to other motor bikes in this segment.
  • Chassis Mashup: The lightweight frame that is adapted from the top of the line KX450F is a nice addition. The frame and all the components now keep the weight to an unbelievable 233.7 lbs. Now, with these components, this bike is arguably now in the 250 four-stroke weight class, and has the power to challenge the 300cc class bikes.
  • Modern Conveniences: With the added features like electric start, adjustable power levels, tuning with a smart device, and a hydraulic clutch, all the modern features that I hoped to see on a high-end two-stroke.

Reintroduction of “F” suffix (KX450F & KX250F)

Kawasaki is adding the “F” suffix to their four-stroke motocross models (KX450F and KX250F) again in 2027. I really like this move since it’s a great way to show that these bikes are the very best and are ready to compete.

2027 KX450F / KX450FX

After being completely revamped a few seasons ago, these 2027 racing updates really sharpen this machine.

  • Engine Refinements: I think a more responsive pull through the lower and mid range is a result of a recent tuning of the intake and exhaust systems.
  • Updated Chassis Geometry: The new stretched swingarm will, in my opinion, better rear wheel traction and bike stability down rough, long straight sections.
  • Premium Controls: I was very happy to see a new set of elite stopping power Brembo calipers and master cylinders added.

2027 KX250F / KX250FX

The KX250F relies on many modern and advanced engine updates. I also found a few factory racing team requested changes.

  • Power Improvements: The silencer is now longer and the combustion chamber is modified to extend more power over mid-to-high RPM.
  • New Clutch: There is a new greater capacity clutch which I think will be less likely to fade with repeated corner exiting.

2027 Kawasaki off-road lineup Pricing

I think Kawasaki’s pricing is competitive when compared to the Austrian and Japanese competitors. In my opinion, the all-new KX327 models are an excellent price for all of the features that you get.

Trail and Youth Off-Road Extensions

Team Green isn’t forgetting about the casual trail riders or the young riders coming up in the ranks and slated to race in 2027! here’s what they have in 2027 Kawasaki off-road lineup.

  • KLX Play Bikes: The KLX300 and KLX230 S ABS have new ECU mapping for 2027. I appreciate the lower-seat-height S versions and suggest them for beginner and shorter trail riders.
  • KX Youth Mini-Cycles: The sleds that are the future of Team Green racing, returning for 2027, are the small-racing KX112’s, KX85’s, and KX65’s.

I have a HOT take regarding the 2027 Kawasaki off-road lineup: the bikes are hitting the showrooms in late 2026. The word on the street is that the KX327s are going to be the 2-stroke TOY of choice: get your deposit in early to secure your Summer fun!
