Toyota Camry is popular midsize car has found a home in America for 39 years. the The current generation model that was unveiled in 2021 has made big changes including a shift to a hybrid only lineup of vehicles. The 2021 model was a big change, but the next iteration won’t stray too far from that.

2027 is expected to be an improvement on the 2021 model. The sedan’s strong points will be enhanced including the software, standard cabin layouts, and operational efficiency. Here is a preview of what to expect from the 2027 Toyota Camry.

1. Pure Hybrid Power

By 2027, there will be no 100% combustion engine options for the Camry. The 5th Generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS5) will be featured in all the cars from Toyota. The 5th Generation THS uses a 2.5L combustion engine assisted by an eCVT to provide power through an electric drivetrain. Power remains evenly distributed through the following:

  • Front-Wheel Drive (FWD): All FWD models will now have 2 electric motors producing a total of 225 horsepower.
  • Electronic All-Wheel Drive (AWD): A 2nd generation variant of the AWD equipped with a 3rd electric motor is rated 232 horsepower but does not cause a significant dip in fuel economy during engagement of the system on low traction surfaces or in cases of rapid acceleration. which is a good point.
  • Fuel Economy Reality: The 2027 Camry is expected to have EPA rating of 51 to 52 MPG leading to a 2027 Camry price and operating cost to be in the same ballpark as the budget economy hatchbacks.

2. What’s New and Updated for 2027 Toyota Camry

2027 Toyota Camry is going to carry over the sleek and sculpted exterior of the most recent generation. However, the new generation has seen new small changes based on feedback from customers.

Expanded AWD Options and Suspension

AWD is now a lot easier to select across more packages, meaning that customers who are not interested in the more premium or luxury trims are able to obtain AWD in the 2027 model.

There are also slight changes to the suspension of the sportier trims SE and XSE. These changes have allowed for better tuning between suspension stiffness to highway driving and suspension stiffness for flat, hard cornering.

Cabin Insulation & Trim Choices

Updated soundproof glass and sound-dampening materials from Toyota have improved the sound quality of the driver cabin. Toyota used to have trouble with hybrid drive units creating a low rumble when stepping on the accelerator and sending sound to the drive cabin.

Toyota also introduced new hear absorption fabrics and new stitching on the mid-level trims of their vehicles.

3. Trim Levels

The 2027 Camry separates into comfort (LE, XLE) or sporty (SE, XSE) packages, just like previous models.

What is standard on all trims is the new fully wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features and. more importantly, 5 fast charging USB ports on the front and back of the vehicle.

Then the most impressive part of the new design is Toyota’s decision to keep traditional buttons and switches to control the climate. This is a great win for the drivers.

4. Advanced Safety Suite: TSS Updates

The 2027 Toyota Camry will be equipped with the Toyota Safety Suite. This suite collects all such tech together in one place. It operates a radar and camera system.

This suite can actively detect pedestrians and cyclists. It can apply the brakes when it senses a potential collision. It can also control distance with adaptive cruise control as well as lane tracing.
